Just like the War Domain, this Domain will grant you proficiency in Martial Weapons and Heavy Armor. This means with Healing Word, you will be able to use your Action to still attack. However, Healing Word can be cast at a distance and as a Bonus Action.
Cure Wounds is better than Healing Word between encounters, due to it having a higher die to roll.

This is a truly amazing spell for the first few rounds of combat while all members of the group are still in full health and have all their resources ready to go. This can last for 10 turns if they are not interrupted at this time. Lastly, Divine Strike will let you roll an extra 1d8 of damage that matches your weapon’s damage type. With War God’s Blessing, you can do the exact same thing but for others instead of yourself. With Guided Strike, you can turn a failed hit into a successful one by giving the roll +10 after you have seen the dice roll results. When you channel your divinity, you will have the option to have it manifest in the form of Guided Strike, or War God’s Blessing. The number of times you can do this will be equal to your Wisdom Modifier, and Wisdom should be your highest Ability due to being a Cleric. The War Domain will also grant the War Priest feature, which will let you make an attack as a Bonus Action. The War Domain will give your Cleric proficiency in Martial Weapons and Heavy Armour, just like a fighter.
Players that want to have a Fighter that can also cover their Intelligence rolls have the Eldritch Knight option for their subclass, but a War Domain Cleric is for players that want to play a Fighter that can also cover their Wisdom rolls.
